My brave little girl
Friday, November 28th, 2008Last 2 Sundays ago, my youngest child Louise has an accident while playing with her Kuya Heaven. She accidentally bumped her forehead on the wall of our bedroom and had a hole in her forehead that could fit a 1 peso coin.
I was then taking my power nap in a sofa downstairs when I heard Louise’ cry.
You know when you become a parent you will learn to sleep very lightly that you tend to hear every noise around even when you are sleeping.
Anyways, so I heard Louise’ cry but did not pay much attention to it. I thought she and her Kuya must have had a disagreement on one thing and the reason for her crying. It was then until her Atete (that’s how she call her Ate Nelle), called for me from upstairs yelling and at the same time crying, and with that, I knew something bad had happened.
My husband and I hurriedly run upstairs and saw Louise’ forehead full of blood. We were shocked and was terrified looking at her with that state. I was hysterical and was in panicky mode. Did not know what to do, whether to get something to wipe the blood or to run down stairs to get some ice cubes. When we were finally able to stop the blood from flowing, we brought her to the nearest hospital.
She had 3 stitches in her forehead and while the doctor was doing the stitching, we had not heard even a single cry, that’s how brave my little girl is. Then after the ER doctor was done with her, she still managed to show her sweet little smile to us.
That was actually the second time it happened, first time was while she was at school and was in her left eyebrow. I just hope that there will be no third.
